This fascinating biopic covers the years from 1936 to 1939 when most Englishmen were complacent with what was happening in German. But Winston Churchill (Albert Finney) had serious concerns about Hitler and went to extraordinary means to investigate documents that would help him substantiate his concerns to British legislature and the Prime Minister.
This is also the love store between Churchill and his beloved Clementine (Vanessa Redgrave).
Finney's portrayal is magnificent and, at times, eerily like I've seen Churchill in film footage.
Also appearing are Jim Broadbent, Derek Jacobi, Tom Wilkinson, Hugh Bonneville, and Linus Roache.
