Is Anybody There? (2009)

.
"You accumulate regrets and they stick to you like old bruises."

Ten-year-old Edward (Bill Milner) is obsessed with death. He can't help it. He's been robbed of much of his childhood because his mother (Anne-Marie Duff) runs a seaside nursing home where young Edward is surrounded by crusty old people, many of whom are senile and others who are just plain mean.

Enter one spirited troublemaker, the retired magician Clarence (Michael Caine), who is running from his past and helps Edward to make a present and future for himself.

Directed by John Crowley.

Run time: 1 hour, 36 minutes
