Former mobster thug Gary "Gal" Dove (Ray Winstone) has retired from England to Spain with his wife DeeDee (Amanda Redman) and their best friends, Aitch(Cavan Kendall) and Jackie (Julianne White). Life in retirement is all Gal wants but when another thug, the menacing Don Logan (Ben Kingsley) arrives, Gal is pushed to his limits.

Seems Logan is putting together a "team" of eight for a massive heist at the behest of Stan (Darkie Smith) who is working for mastermind Teddy Bass (Ian McShane). Only the best the best will be invited onto the team and since Gal was once among the best in England, it's only natural that he'd be wanted on the team to break through an inpentrable security system to gain the gold.

Because Gal keeps refusing Logan, Logan needs to get more and more aggressive. Who will win this battle of the wills?
